x2 for using 0-40, 0-30 synthetic; I have had excellent results in the 2 gassers I have owned. As for the sticky 1st to 2nd shifts, both the bikes I have owned have done it but have gotten better with time. Not sure what the cause is but make sure your shifter tip is not too sloppy. I tightened...
Emgo now offers a shift lever for the gassers. My local dealer has one on his 07 ec250 and it looks suspiciously like the x-fun lever but a lot cheaper, about $25 Can. A quick check of the website doesn't show a part number but it doesn't appear to be up to date either. I won't be talking to him...
I agree; I'm 6'3" and have my Windham bend ProTapers as far forward as possible in the stock clamps(06 EC300) and wouldn't have it any other way. Try a washer between the top clamps and the bar clamps for easier access to the adjuster screws but it's still a pain to get at. Too bad, BRP makes...
While surfing through the Cycle News website, I came across an article in their online magazine that states that Ducati is interested in the company, apparently to add off road bikes to the line-up. The article is on page 8 of the Jan 16th edition. This could be very interesting!
One of the reasons your KXF boils is that the bike is designed for mx use and was meant to have a fair amount of air flow to keep things cool; my 02 CRF450 was the same way; sold it and bought an 06 EC300 and have yet to boil it. It has large rads and holds a lot of coolant; way more than my...
The stock gasser o/s bars are larger in this area than any other fat bar I've seen. I tried ones from MSR, Acerbis and Moose but no luck. Finally put some Pro-Tapers on rather than have something machined up to fit. The sweep on the Windham bend is also more comfortable for my tall frame:) .
d251man; still planning on heading over to St Malo that day to tear up the ice; gotta ride the 300 on the ice to see how it works. I think that it may work pretty good. Don't worry; lotsa time to get together. Spring fever has definitly hit although it's still friigin cold and snowy. :)
Boomhauer, tell your friend about the Duck Mountain provincial forest reserve. A friend of mine who hunts elk in this area has told me about some nice country to explore here; specifically on the eastern end. We've talked about heading up there to do some exploring so we could posibly hook up...
Pulling the cylinder head won't be necessary; you'll know right away if you have a gasser or not. I've yet to see a "chinese" bike with an Ohlins shock or Marzzochi forks.
I'm not a dealer and can't speak for mine but I do know you would definitely get some interest from the Canuck side if you had one in Minnesota. I'd be happy just to see the new bikes.
As an owner of an 06 EC300 I would have to say that the suspension would work in either situation; they respond well to adjiustments so don't be afraid to play with the shocks and forks. I would recomend a steering damper though as mine gets kinda nervous at high speeds. As a huge fan of the...
