Hey all,
I'm considering a 2002 250EC and wondering if anyone has any feedback on this moto. How's the parts availability and reliability of the moto/gearbox?
Primary riding would be woods with some small street sections connecting. I'm 6'3" 185lbs intermediate rider.
Thanks for your time
Hello GG Riders,
Please look over the attached document for servicing the clutch on '05 450 FSE.
NOTE: the 450 does not have the anti-juddering system. All plate thicknesses are to be the same. Adige recommends using manufacture spec oil viscosity in the motorcycle...
GG Readers,
I am learning a ton on this clutch and will post a quick document once I have it back together. I've made contact with Adige who makes the slipper clutch and they've been very helpful. Also Matto Cycle has a good supply of gaskets and o-rings for the '05 450 FSE. They got me the...
Tafka,
Yup, that's the exact clutch that's in it. I have found Matto Cycle here in the states that has a good handle on parts. The pressure plate on the clutch is fatiguing and requires replacement. See pic attached.
I read on another thread that the cover just had an o-ring...
Thanks for the advice guys.
First tried the lever adjust, but still had issues... so I opened the clutch up and removed the plates. They all looked clean and the action of the pulling the clutch lever in on the pressure plates looked good with the clutch cover off.
What torque should the...
Hey GG Friends,
I'm experiencing my bike stalling when dropping into 1st on the first ride of the day. It happens a few times and then finally I'm able to drop into first gear and ride. I'm guessing the clutch plates are sticking together.
Anyone have any tips on removing the clutch plates...
Thanks for your reply Tafka.
I was given the '04 manual, not the '05. I've since downloaded the correct manual and see that it is 1.2L not 1.8. The '04 was 1.8.
Thanks for your support, stay tuned for my next round of questions! :)
GG Riders,
I have now realized I was given a 2004 FSE manual with the moto, not a 2005. The '05 manual instructs the rider to use the ignition key to kill the motor; no warnings of damaging the injection system.
Thanks for reading regardless.
Hey 'lo!
I'm struggling to add the 1.8liter of oil to my 450 after changing the oil. Just picked the bike up and wanted to get fresh oil in it. Drained the oil, replaced the plug in the engine case and the frame sump. Then tried to add oil to the dip stick location.
I can only add about...
