    '02 EC300 brake light wiring

My '02 EC300 appears to have the original harness mostly zip-tied away around the gas tank &n airbox, but the headlight is still there and flick on with a little toggle switch under the fairing/number plate......not sure if it's factory or not..... But the rear fender has a tiny light on it, no...

'03 EC 300, rear brake weirdness & sanity check

Thanks, new pads and I'll check the sizing stamps on the MC's. Hadn't thought of that.

'03 EC 300, rear brake weirdness & sanity check

My rear brake has never worked (properly) since I got the bike, no obvious signs of leakage anywhere and the pedal SEEMED like it was firm enough, but there was NO braking action. Swapped in a new MC & reservoir, and verified that the caliper is not frozen and is not leaking, and moves freely on...

    '03 EC300 rear caliper options

About that rear caliper: It looks to me like the rear axle/wheel needs to be removed, otherwise there's no way to slide the caliper along the rear guide pin & past the disc? Correct?

    '03 EC300 rear caliper options

With the help of a lot of member's input, I learned that my '03 front caliper was frozen, and I found both a Nissin rebuild kit AND an XL600 option as a bolt-on replacement. Ordered both. Is there a Honda option for the REAR caliper, also? Haven't pulled that one off yet, but it's lever and...

'03 EC300 Nissin front master cyl kit?

Thanks, this is good stuff. It's all OEM parts, PO didn't molest the bike, just neglected it (sat for a long time). Did I mention the air filter had disintegrated to dust, so he wrapped the entire assembly (crumbly air filter and all) in a T-shirt? No idea if he ran it much that way, or if the...

'03 EC300 rad shroud screws into gas tank...

I'll use gas tank sealer (someone must make it) and fatter screws, yes. But I might try to ride it without any screw because the seat traps the shroud there anyway.

'03 EC300 rad shroud screws into gas tank...

UPDATE: I learned that the PO of my bike used (1) shroud screw that was longer than the other ones, and it pierced the tank on the inside. Like I mentioned before, the (4) screw locations on the tank looks like they've been repaired before, maybe with some kind of filler, but this has GOT...

'03 EC300 Nissin front master cyl kit?

UPDATE: Front brake holds pressure now, except the lever feels like the system is pressurized......no "free" play once the lever makes contact with the MC plunger, and it's a HARD lever, and there is insufficient braking action for that amount of lever pull. I also overfilled the reservoir...

'02 EC300, best option for rear license plate mount?

I THINK I have the stock rear fender, and it has a tiny brake light on it, but it does NOT have the (I assume removable?) sub-fender with the license plate mount. I assume there are many aftermarket replacements, so is there a preferred model/type? I want to get mine licensed for the road. OR...

'03 EC300 Nissin front master cyl kit?

OK then! I finally got off my ass and BLED the front brake, seems to work fine now. But thanks for the link to the Hond (knockoff?) front brake MC, I have no problem using something like that if the need arises.

'03 EC300 Nissin front master cyl kit?

Touche' ! Got me there, although in this day and age I was ASSUMING an on-line source, which doesn't care which planet I live on. I'll continue to search, but I would imagine it's common to swap in a non-Nissan M/C & lever unit with the same bore & outlet config.

'03 EC300 Nissin front master cyl kit?

I can't seem to find on-line a rebuild kit for the Nissin front brake master cyl on my '03 EC300. Gotta be a common kit for many years, what's a good source, for this and the rear brake and clutch, too?

'03 EC300 rad shroud screws into gas tank...

Made it work... I attacked the problem again and began installing the shrouds in a different sequence, and I was able to install the screws. But before I did, I resolved to do as you suggested, slot the holes if necessary. Thanks for the reply!
