Hi to everyone, I have finally got to the bottom of my problem with the bike, after all my expense and time. It was the silencer/muffler, I opened it up to discover it was bunged up, I took out all the internals and took it out (very loud though), what a difference, power wheelies in first...

I had the very same problem with my ec 300 but the float level didnt need to be re-set, it was just a little bit of crap under the float needle which stoped it seating quite right, I took out the float needle and cleaned out the hole and it worked perfectly ever since.:)

Hi have the 2k-3 (larger flywheel) rear exit wires. Are these bike ment to rev out early? It has plenty of torque, but I have to change gear early as there are no high revs?

sorry I forgot to mention: I dont think its fuel starvation, the reason being I ride with several friends on various bikes (ktm exc 300, yam wr250f, honda cr250, husky 400f and suz rm 250) we often compare fuel usage at the end of the day and my bike has always used the most. By quite a bit.

I am looking at changing the rear sprocket from 42 to 48, I have stripped down the carb completely "twice" including taking out the float needle and cleaning everything up but it is all in good clean condition. The slide moves freely its a 2000 model ec300. I'll try putting the needle in clip 1...

Prehaps its chocking out on full throttle, ill try a smaller main jet. Any ideas?:confused:

the temp is from 0c up to 10c at the moment and I run 178 main which is fairly large as I believe. I have stripped down the carb, blown out all the jets for blockages yet nothing seems to make a difference. Where do I find the transistor, I'll try removing it.
