    Lets talk tires!

I have run the Sedona MX907HP on both of my GasGas 300's. I ride rocky, root infested, greasy wet clay trails in the Pacific Northwet. I run the Sedona at 5 psi with Tubliss. It has stiff sidewalls and a flexible crown which works well at low pressure. The MX907HP tire has traction very...

    Clutch growl

It is hard to tell for sure if the growl/squeal causes harm. I try avoid the conditions that cause the growl/squeal. Even so, it makes noise at times. My '01 XC300 has a Rekluse with the original clutch basket and plates. Still going strong at 557 hours. My '06 EC300 has a Rekluse. It had...

    Clutch growl

Clutch growl/squeal under heavy load, high clutch slip is common on GasGas. The 2 low cost fixes to reduce the growl/squeal are... Use Shell Rotella 15W-40 oil. This is one of the best oils to reduce growl/squeal, but it doesn't eliminate it. Drill more holes in the clutch hub. Again, this...

Average hours on chain & sprockets?

On my 2 GasGas 300?s, I got 2961 miles and 3250 miles out of Ironman front sprockets trail riding in Oregon and Washington west of the Cascades. Admittedly, they were quite hooked when I replaced them. I should have replaced them earlier. In comparison I got 648 & 879 miles out of the stock...

    Best tire for Tubeless system

I have been running the Sedona MX 907HP with TuBliss at 5 psi. It has performed very well so far. It is very stable, handles well and has great traction across a wide range of soils, roots and rocks. However, I don't have any use on the greasy wet clay yet. That will be the real test.

    Injured... ZRX vs deer

I hit our dog (a Collie) riding a track at home years ago. I flew over the bars and did a face plant. The dog hardly got hurt. Best wishes on a quick recovery.

    what forks to use

I put a set of '07 YZ450 forks on my '06 EC300. Stock valving and springs as far as I can tell. I cleaned them out, put in new oil and new fork seals. The YZ forks are light years ahead of the 45mm Zokes. They are way more stable and track straight where I point the front wheel. The YZ forks...

    Lower back problem.

I had bad back pain in my mid 40's. I tried chiropractic treatment, acupuncture, kidney belts, physical therapy, exercising, memory foam mattress, etc. What I learned over a period of 4+ years is that a wide range of stretching exercises over a maximum range of motion to relax and unlock the...

    2012 YZ450F forks and front end on a 2008 EC200?

On my 2006 EC300 I installed Yamaha 2007 YZ450F 48mm forks and 2009 YZ450F triple clamps. The later year triple clamps (around 2009) had 2 bar mount positions. Please note that around 2010 Yamaha changed the upper fork tube outside diameter so you need to check on triple clamp & fork...

Need advice bar bend for xc rider with wrist trouble

I standup ride 98% of the time for my lower back. If I stand up it feels great. Sit down and it hurts. The downside of standup riding is that it puts lots of stress on my wrists. I found a low cost and effective to eliminate my wrist pain - wrap my wrists with elastic bandages. It totally...

I am curious to read how Synergy Seals responds about the mis-fit of the lower shock bushing. He used to post on this site.

    Neck brace wearers?

My neck is 17.5 " and I have a prominent Adams apple. The Leatt brace was adjusted as big as it would go. It felt very irritating. Not for me. The Omega is very comfy.

    Neck brace wearers?

I hated the Leatt brace since it pushed up against my Adam's apple on my neck, even at the largest adjustment. The Omega is way more comfortable. Further, the downward load is distributed by a comfortable web on both sides. It doesn't have a lightly padded frame to jam on your collarbone in...
