power valve slapping on what? - is it a problem I'm sure its not the chain slapping on the swing arm - its definetly coming from the engine. Thanks for replies

My 300 makes a "clacking noise" when I shut off the power while riding. It doesn't do it when I rev the engine at standstill. There is good compression - its quite hard to kick over so unlikey to be piston slap? The bike goes fine, perhaps not as strong top end as I expected. Should I be...
