2002 EC250 2T. My swingarm bolt appears to be locked in, is this normal?

Agree with this mostly. Will free up eventually without destroying the swingarm bolt or doing any other damage. You shouldnt be beating on it so hard that you are ruining the threads or mushrooming the bolt. Not just to save that swingarm bolt. But because when you compress the threads and...

    lower seat for shorter rider

You can modify the rear suspension link to some degree in most cases.GasGas actually had some different length links between years that would interchange.Maybe the same years too? Does anyone remember? I remember the early bikes with the flat links were something easily made and modified. The...

    Homemade radiator braces?

Making your own is smart. They aren't that much fun to mount to the bike aftermarket. I've never had a set just bolt right on and walk away. Its always a pita to get them to fit right and they aren't cheap or particularly built well.

Which rims lace up to GG hubs?

48 in.lb is pretty much the accepted standard today. You can only get accurate spoke torque numbers with pristine components. It really comes down to feel and constant adjustment until they stay snug and the wheel stays true IMHO

Let's see. Should be able to use the spacers you have. Just mill them back to where the taper starts. Or turn them down on a lathe.Right?

Which rims lace up to GG hubs?

You cannot eliminate that internal spacer. IDK what you mean by not liking the current setup. But you have to have that spacer floating in there.

Which rims lace up to GG hubs?

Some KTM wheels will swap over depending on years and whether your talking front or rear. Some years they used a common fork basicly. In some cases the axle diameters will be different but that is easily solved by getting different bearings for the wheel. You just mic the hub(od of bearing) and...

    1999 MC250 Serial # 1

Sounds familiar. Their was a site that had all the Gasser Enduro models through the late 80s and early 90s. Some really Bitchin bikes. Thats what got me looking at GasGas originally. Every year the bikes were different colors and setups. And all those crazy 80s early 90s colors and graphics...

    1999 MC250 Serial # 1

Check your GasGas history before you get to crazy about feeling "oobligated or entrusted" to preserve this thing. I'm not talking about the history of that particular model or its launch into the American market. GasGas was a trials bike company that just couldn't help themselves and built some...

Which rims lace up to GG hubs?

I have to agree with some of what's been said alredy. Buying used complete wheels makes a lot sense. The cost of the wheels and spokes these days has made that option quite expensive. Lacing the wheel and truing the wheel not really a big deal but still takes some time. Every wheel I've ever...
