You have to get the sag right with the correct spring and preload. That's where to start. A light spring with too much preload will yield a crappy ride, and a heavy spring with too little preload will also not work well. Get the springs right first. Then revalve if you're unhappy with the action.

I had Millenium replate the cylinder on my 300 this winter. Send them your new piston when you send the jug, and it'll be honed just right when you get it back. Turn around was under two weeks door to door.

For anyone in the southeast (North Carolina) looking to stay local, Bruce Triplett of Bruce's Suspension knows the Gasgas suspension pretty well. He has two Gasgas's of his own, so he spent the time to figure out the 'Zokes. He's done all my KTM RFS bikes, and also my '04 300EC. Works quite nice.
