off topic a little here, but does anyone know what other clutch plates (steels and fibres) will fit a 09 EC300R? Assume the R and std models have the same clutch

does it run ok for the first 1/2 hr? If so, forget the carby. Sounds like either a stator or a cdi failing when it gets hot. Get a can or freezer spray and spray the cdi when it does it next and see if it will go

Update Got a new coil, check MJ was clear (replaced) problem remains. Removed pipe and marked PV settings with cable tie on LH side, refitted pipe and checked PV operation, PV opens fully. Removed carby and reeds block, all reeds ok, not cracked and sealing well removed flywheel and...

I had a small crack in a radiator fin, would only leak under significant pressure. Also had a shot water pump, that would cause overheating and therfore water loss Check to see if your has the plastic impeller...if so my advise is get rid of it

I am no expert, as only new to the gassers myself, but compared to the kato it does sigh off early. I check the 'max rpm' on my speedo after i reved it out (past where it stopped making good power) and it said 9600, so I would imagine useable power is up to about 8500-9000rpm. the cap was fine, the problem was where the coil wire enters the coil. The plastic support was broken and the coil wire wasnt completely screwed into the coil screw. Give this wire a tug and if it comes out easily it may be your proble, also do this at the cap end. If it is loose, cut the HT...

It sure does, mine was cracked big time and the shaft was spinning. Replaced it with a gasgas original part which was alloy, guess they much have upodated the part It came with a extra washer to go behind the impeller

Took the gasser for a ride today and she refused to pull above 7000 RPM It idles fine and goes well in the midrange, but just refuses to rev. Even if you hold it WOT for a few seconds it just wont rev out. Sounds like a 2 stroke that is about to foul a plug.I tried a new plug - same. It was fine...
