Ethanol issue?

What do you mean tap on the outside of my computer? I had a lot of problems on mine not joining the ECU connector properly. It's so awkward to get at.

Thought that was just damage but if it is a helicoil badly fitted it could account for the problem if it caused it to seize up on the linkage.

Hmm hard to tell. Could be just a fault in the shock mount and the damage was done from the assymetric force after it had broken. When you fix it make sure the mount isn't clamping the linkage just in case.

I'm not sure that will matter when you consider how common it is to split comp / reb bewteen fork legs.

Makes perfect sense but you should've noticed a stronger pull on the way to the limiter than the 250F. You do have to change gear more on a 2 stroke even a 300.

I had one on my 200 when I got it. Didn't know it was a cat and was wondering why the bike was so slow. Then I twigged, put the other pipe on and the power doubled! Dunno why it had a cat pipe on it, it's a 2003! :confused:

Not sure but I think the starter moved in 05, that was quite a big change. Then in 06 there were other changes with a slightly bigger bore. If the 2006 and later will mount and you can accomodate the different starter position (could be a pain with harness etc) then you will have the most...

What's the function of the slip clutch / torque limiter? Why does it do and why is it necessary? My starter doesn't appear to have one - by that I mean if it gets stuck on compression it just strains against it.

Very unlikely. You'd need to find a bike with almost identical timing and gas flow, then the shape and mountings would need to match. But I'm sure we'd all be interested if there was. The easiest way to tell would be to check aftermarket part no.s to see if any are the same that would be sure...

Found an air leak! No wonder it was erratic. Am now on 48, FEJ #4, 178 #7 slide Feels like it needs to be richer at about 2/3 -> 3/4 throttle so may try bigger main although wide open is ok.
