  • So finally have the FSE back from the dealer. He didn't do anything to fix it but he didn't make it any worse. To his defense he got no support from Go Fasters in regards to a shop manual or even a response that they couldn't get one for him.

    Tonight I hooked up a VST and the first message that came up was " Water Temp. Sensor: Open Circut/Short Circut to Battery - Battery Volt: Open Circut/Short Circut to Battery"
    I got the same message with the water temp sensor unplugged. Assuming I unplugged the right sensor (just over the starter and under where the coolant hose connects from the top of the radiator). To test what setting and value should I get from the sensor with a meter? And where does that sensor connect to the ECU so I can trace it back and see if there's a break or short in the wires?

    For reference this is an '04 FSE450.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Hey! I've had similar type problems...and know how useless any local shop has been too...even on the west coast. (see my post re: RIP GG). If you need to either buy or borrow an ECU let me know. I have a brand new one...and a used one that was tested on a computer and is good.
