    Cleaning Plastics

Some of the guys on the TBM forum have talked about using Cif to clean up dirty plastics. To polish them up use Pledge furniture polish, it has silicon in it that really brings up a shine.

    New rim...DID vs Excel

My 05 EC 300 came with the new DID rims, I bent the front on my second ride.

What is it with Jetting - 2004 EC300

I've had similar issues with an 05 EC300 currently running at around 800ft and 70F, although I haven't had problems with the idle. I was running the LT needle, 178 main and 45 pilot with a #7 slide and had the same issues of sometimes running ok, sometimes not. I agree with Eric K that a 42...

    LT racing jet kit report...

Look forward to hearing how you get on with the number 8 slide, I've been having very similar issues with the LT kit. It's damn near perfect but I'd like to know if the 8 slide cures those little niggles.

    Carb tricks

The difference is in the throttle range that the needle and main jet are most effective. The needle clip position has most effect between 1/8 and 1/2 throttle and the main jet has most effect between 1/2 and wide open, although their effective range overlaps. If you raise the clip position on...

    More jetting problems!

Just curious to know whether your jetting is the same as the baseline jetting given with the LTR kit?

    More jetting problems!

Kind of thinking the same way now! Been spending so much time time trying to iron out that little sputter that I think I've kind of forgotten to ride the thing the way it should be ridden. On the dirt and on the pipe!

    More jetting problems!

Idle screw is 2 turns out, air screw 1 1/2 turns out. I've got a feeling you're right about the pilot, with the 45 the bike started easier than it ever has, just took a gentle kick. Usually it takes a few big kicks with some kickback. I'm just feeling very frustrated cos nothing seems to work...

    More jetting problems!

Got the LTR needle today, fitted and jetted to Les's baseline settings; 178 main and 45 pilot, needle on middle clip. Certainly had a more hit off the bottom, but still got that sputter on small throttle openings. Played with the clip position with no improvement, fitted a 175 main which got...

    More jetting problems!

You guys are spot on, I moved the needle to the top clip and it almost got rid of the sputtering, found I was way too lean on the pilot so went back to the 40 and also tried a leaner 172 main. From 1/4 throttle to wide open is almost perfect now, just a touch rich if anything, its just that...

    Too Tall to Stand??

I'm 6'3'' and have similar problems, used to use some Renthal Dakar High bars which were certainly higher than stock and helped with standing up, but I found that they made it hard to get to get enough weight over the front when sitting down and cornering hard. Another problem is that if you...

    More jetting problems!

Thanks for the advice guys, just tried the clip 2nd from top and there is no noticable difference, may try the top clip before trying anything else or buying any new parts, but I'm just a little worried about going too lean. Have been considering the LTR kit but have read some mixed opinons...

    More jetting problems!

Hi guys, I've got a problem with my '05 EC300. I've had the bike a couple of months and it's been running great apart from a sputter at 1/8 to 1/4 throttle. The jetting in the bike is as follows; slide #7 needle N1EG 3rd clip main 175 pilot 40 I've tried a 35 pilot, needed 2 1/4 turns out...

    is it just me?!

I've never used GasGas UK so I can't comment on them, but I've had a few bits from Bike Tech (01225 765765) and they've always been reliable and fast.

    Milky gearbox oil

Thanks guys, coolant seems fine so must have pulled water in through the breather pipe, I'll get that re-routed before riding again. Been reading up about Shell Rotella, seems great but I'm not sure if Shell do an equivalent here in the UK. Shame cos it would save me some cash! Juzzasmith
