OK, so great news! I rolled the bike out yesterday and on a hunch, took a screwdriver and tapped the carburetor bowl a few good licks with the plastic handle. Hopped on and gave it 3 kicks (not opening the throttle as instructed above) and it started! It was a smoke show for about 3 minutes...
