My bike runs perfectly in Minnesota summers (up to mid 90s & high humidity). I trail ride into early winter and have ridden in temps down to the low teens. I tip the bike to flood the carb, let it warm up thoroughly and then it runs exactly the same as any other temp. A few friends need to...
A year and a half later and I was at the same point.
Brake always worked, just lacked feel and I'm not a AA rider so priority level lost out to drinks on the patio most of the time.
I bled different ways. I replaced lines. I rebuilt the MC. I cleaned the MC. I swapped the MC.
Sometimes...
If you get into it far enough to do the spring, do the ratchet gear. Once you have the new one in hand, the wear on the old will be more obvious. Did mine this year and no more slipping.
I also need to routinely remind myself that it really doesn't take much to start these bikes. Not...
12* F this year at our annual black Friday ride when we started mid morning, warmed up a few degrees. I just add one more layer and some latex gloves under my regular gloves, I was sweating a mile in. Not really interested in riding if it's much colder than that.
I have the Tag bars that have some "vibration reducing polymer" aka silicone that's dyed red. Can't say I noticed a difference over stock bars, but then again I really don't think my bike vibrates much. I use ProGrips and feel like those do more than anything. Nice thick rubber grips that...
Much delayed follow up... Did some poking and cleaning of the master cylinder, several rides since and I seem to have improved feel on the lever now. It doesn't get hard like it did before (that's what she said.)
Wow, thought this was a fluke but apparently not. I discovered mine was bent when I did the bottom end last year. Couldn?t figure out why it was such a bitch to put back together until I had the realization. Also was the culprit of my shift lever having more play than it should have. Good...
Interesting. I'm not doubting you but I'm confused why that would cause an issue? Mine looks to be in good shape but it's an easy swap if I still have issues in the next few weeks.
Edit. Just saw his post. I think his was more of a spongy feel problem but nevertheless, good to know.
