If that was Scott he is a great guy and always willing to help out any way he can. Got my bike from him and he's great to do business with. He's into the sport.
Didn't realize my manhood was part sawdust. Learn something new every day it seems. Amazing how much this writer knows about me. I guess that's the kind of wisdom mental giants like him have over dumb folk like me. I just hope he's wearing a pair of the latest tevas, some nice craghopper pants...
Yeah it is basically a new bike. It's a shame that the past couple seasons have just given me no time to ride. I'm bumming to see it go. I finally got the thing running good, thanks to RB's mods. The new owner can enjoy it. As soon as I get my new house built I'll be getting another one...
Great review as always Chilly. You mentioned it was KTM-like with the feel and suspension. The squealing brakes must have made you feel right at home, too lol!
** SOLD ** $5300 obo - 2011 EC300 same as brand new. Looks like it just rolled out of the crate and not a scratch on it. It has about 10 hours on it, most of which has been around the property testing various jetting setups. I've had it out 2x on my loop riding and that is it. I hate to sell it...
I'm thinking of Les and hope he recovers fully. I've only talked to him once, but that's all it took to tell he's a super guy. A real genuine guy I'd say. Obviously he's been big for the sport and the brand. Get well soon.
Sounds like you might be on to something with the plug wire. Take the cap off and make sure you have a good connection. If you have the length you can cut them back and re-attach the cap. If you have a high resistance connection it's possible you're not firing good at certain rpms. Maybe that...
After reading everything through this thread my money would be on the right side crank seal. I've seen similar issues to what you are describing and you've ruled out about everything else. I think it would be worthwhile to do a crankcase pressure test.
Yep hard to say which one but my a/s actually works now that I've had the head (and carb) mods done. I no longer have the hanging/racing idle thing going on. Prior to that I was wasting my time trying to jet the idle.
