    Silencer options

Anyone know of other crossovers for the ‘14 Models? I need a new silencer for my ‘14 300. Preferably in Australia but everyone ships international these days.

15 e-start retrofit to older models

I looked into it. My '14 system generally works ok but isn't perfect. I worked out every part # needed to upgrade and got it priced up. Worked out around the $700 AUS mark to upgrade. Think I'll stick to my semi reliable '14 starter system

Anyone managed to break a footpeg mount - 12'+

Brackets were Roo Ted. The bracket holding the footpeg that snapped off was pretty bent and twisted. The bracket on the other side was showing signs of spreading too (the gap where the footpeg mounts and the securing pin goes through had spread open a good 5mm). Replaced both, also replaced...

Reiger Shock - parts diagram and disassembly

I helped a mate service his Reiger off a '15 model the other day. @85 hours his bladder was blown too. Pretty sure he said he went to a local suspension tuner and a Showa shock bladder out of a CRF is the same dimensions and fits. I'll confirm that and post up here.

Anyone managed to break a footpeg mount - 12'+

Turned out to be very very simple in the end. Went and got some good cobalt drill bits and together with quality bolt removing tools the broken bolt stubs came out easy.

Here's my effort. Good tip re the carbide drill bits Jake. I'll grab some today and tackle the bolts this afternoon.

Anyone managed to break a footpeg mount - 12'+

Must be the week for it. I stuffed up a steep rockface yesterday, bike hit the deck on the left hand side and started sliding backwards, footpegs aren't designed to bend that way so both bolt heads holding the footpeg bracket to the frame sheared. Luckily it was a play rock only a k or two of...

    Aussie stuff

Didn't take long for it to get hot and dusty at my local riding area! http://youtu.be/5cmgojhgeNU

    Return x Compression

I had one fitted to my '11 Sachs shock. I fitted it along with a gold valve when it developed the piston fade issue. As Jake mentioned the Sachs shock already has its own type of reb separator valve being a ball bearing on a spring. It isn't as effective as the racetech one in that it won't...

What did you do to your Gas Gas today?

Just watch the fastway pegs folding back onto the rear brake bolt. On my '14 every time the bike goes down reasonably hard on the right hand side the peg pushes onto the brake bolt and actually bends the tab that is welded to the frame inwards. You can tell when this happens because your brake...

    KYB cartridge into sachs fork?????

Yep been done. Think it was synergy seals did it. Apparently the simple machine of the bottom bolt is more then that and not worth the hassle according to him. Bugger.

    piston life span

I know a bloke who put 15000 klm on an '08 I think it was EC300. He put new rings in it and kept the same piston. Put another 6000klm on it before looping it and the throttle cable got stuck WOT and the cylinder melted and self destructed. Mind you this bloke rides 5-7 times a week and most of...

    Mynameischris fundraiser ride

Went riding last weekend to raise funds for a bloke on dirtbikeworld.net going through a hard time. For background you can read this. Myself and a regular riding mate drove the 7 hrs south on Friday night, had a ball riding pristine tracks Saturday and Sunday, enjoyed a great feed and way too...

    Shock gas options

I use similar to what Jake linked to above, a MTB shock pump, comes with gauge and lossless chuck already. And I used air in the Sachs shock for over 100 hrs and several re-valves, also had air in the Reiger for almost 30hrs now. The Reiger was running N2 after the tuner re-valved it but I...
