Base Gaskets. Wondering if I should use thicker this time.

Raising your cylinder will advance the port timing ,moving power band up in RPM range. It is not always wise to make the piston flush with the bottom of a transfer port, as this will decrease the charge velocity of the transfer port. "The floor", of a port is not that critical as opposed to the...

    PWK leaking at air screw

Your idea in cutting the spring down in length should work fine. When trimming the spring length, make sure it is square and flat and would recommend removing one coil from the spring (I like using the tape sander for this job). Then I would carefully pull the spring apart, stretching it back to...

    PWK leaking at air screw

No, not all PWK 38mm or 36 mm carbs use the o-ring/washer sdet-up.... My first encounters with the o-ring in the PWK's were the KTM carbs which most all of them used. The gasgas carbs did use this o-ring/washer up until about now (past year or so) and not all of them did either. The o-ring is...

I’m pretty computer illiterate and could use some help finding what I need to click or turn on. I would have thought that the computer would do normal things such as this, but with my computer, that’s not the case. Any help would be great. The computer is a HP 6000 series, bought from Costco 2...

I bet you have a PWK 35 mm carb on it, they look the same, but thay are a little smaller in body size. Ron

Just a note about the L1 length; The L1 length of the Keihin needles is not where the taper starts. The L1 length is measured at a point on the taper it self where the taper measures 2.515 mm in diameter. The 2.515 mm is a constant where all the needles L1 measurements are taken. Given that...

    2010 carb question

The YZ carbs that I have worked on use a spring and bushing damper on the needle. Yes, they did move the drain plug on the float bowl to allow excess to the pilot jet and main jet. I wonder if gasgas will ever try the electronics on the carb like the YZ's and Kaw's? Ron

    2010 carb question

I call it a short body PWK and they are 15 mm shorter from front to back of the carb spigots. They use all the same internal parts as the longer body PWK, slide float assy, bowl and jets, etc. The short body PWK's also have a o-ring on the mixture screw, but the mixture screw is the same. It...

    Squish help.

You know, it could be a bad crank seal? The fastest and easiest way to find any air leak is both pressure and vacuum testing. Yes, it should be vacuum tested as well as pressure tested. The only draw back is you will probably have some leakage around the power valve linkage areas. Ron
