    Top end power

I would be getting the top end off to check there's nothing else nasty going on. Clean and lube the whole power valve assembly so that you know that you are starting from a known good position. If the piston looks OK, at least stick some new rings on it whilst you have the top off and give the...

Is there any Gas Gas dealers in the u.s. worth a grain of salt?

If you don't have any luck, contact John Shirt the UK importer. He has been GasGas's importer since they 1st started and he doesn't deal with any other brands. He has a massive inventory of spares and ships worldwide. http://www.gasgasuk.com Email shirty@gasgasuk.com

do you plate your enduro bikes?

All the trails in the UK are officially public roads so you have to be plated, taxed and insured anyway. ?55 to register (1 off) then around ?40 per year tax and ?120 insurance.

How do you clean ur air filter?

I used to use Oxi Clean but it's not easy to find in the UK now. Soda crystals do the job as well anyway. I checked the Hazard data for the No-Toil cleaner and it states that the chemistry is basically the same. I'm not sure what is in Putoline filter oil and cleaner but it takes the skin off...

How do you clean ur air filter?

If you use No-Toil, the branded detergent is 99% plain washing soda crystals. You can buy washing soda from the supermarket for pennies. If you get a bottle of No-Toil cleaner, wash with soda, rinse and then was again with about a teaspoon of No-Toil cleaner to finish. Makes the No-Toil last a...

Technical Bulletin - Crank and Flywheel Nut

You don't need to remove the clutch basket, I didn't. I used a Motion Pro gear jamming tool, a 6 point socket and a 1m socket bar (very carefully!) but my mate used a soft penny coin just as successfully.

Technical Bulletin - Crank and Flywheel Nut

Yes, I replaced it as the UK importer said it needed to be done due to the OEM nut being lighter material and he supplied the replacement. I have found the video I mentioned but I can't find a method of attaching it to a post and I don't have an online photo store.

Technical Bulletin - Crank and Flywheel Nut

Finally found the still photo of my original crank nut. It is marked as loctited and it was solid.

Technical Bulletin - Crank and Flywheel Nut

That is the case. On the video I saw, you can see that the nut can be rocked when on the thread. I changed mine and although the original was tight, it was a lightweight job that seemed pretty flimsy.

Technical Bulletin - Crank and Flywheel Nut

Somewhere, I have a video of one of the faulty nuts. It's obvious from that video that the thread is so slack that Loctite would not make a great deal of difference. The nut is aluminium or similar light material and can be rocked on the crank thread.
