+1 on head work. Stock is way out of spec. Correct squish and combustion specs make jetting easier, improved fuel range and increased power. Reed spacer removal increases response and check the reeds for sure.
Stock pipe and a the volume chamber bolt-on makes a broader powerband starting way...
Test it in the dirt and let it rip to the top. Any sign of power going flat or slow to get on the pipe...run I could look in the 2 stroke sub every few months and there would be a new case with the usual tips. The bike I had is loved by the new owner, but it had a demon within. Strangely...
GG seekers are a rare breed. The one I picked up was listed for 6 months, it was the only one. I sold it for the cost of the suspensions "magic carpet ride" work.
So who makes a 200 out there? 200's have always been big sellers, well green and orange anyway. Maybe Beta or Sherco will avail the oportunity. 200's are my preference, so I'm biased.
Myself and a buddy got off trail on a hillside and had to get back up to the trail. His 530 xcw got pushed a foot at a time by the two of us, the rear didnt want to traverse under power. My 300 suddenly weren't so heavy. Took one push and I kept it going.
4t off-road weight ain't no joke.
Check the float pin holes. Mine had one of the holes worn, which allowed the float to pivot at higher revs. Thus, flooding in a big way.
Is your silencer packing wet!
Had this exact issue. Craziness b/c the final cause/fix was related to excess fuel, yet it seemed that beyond 1/2 throttle the fuel was not keeping up with the increase in air. Between fixing issues and others popping up, each one seemed like 'that's it!'. I was losing my mind.
Final fix was...
Joyful experience isn't it? You can see this sort of top here on a regular basis...quite frustrating.
My '04 had the exact same symptoms. Oddly the fix happened in stages. The 1st item that made a good improvement was a new PV assembly. It then ran mostly like a 4 stroke, with random 2...
You are not alone.
I don't think there has ever been advice that resolved the issue. One guy removed the silencer and ran it down the road WFO thinking it would grenade. It fixed it:confused:
I've been down this road. Mine had no power after half throttle though. The odd part was that a...
uhmm, a 200/250/300 all use the same cases. I'm thinking the 225 would be using a stock 200 crank. The jug was likely decked and ported.
I like the creative 225 solution. Why wouldn't one choose a 250 crank over costly 225 cylinder mods? just sayin'
Where to set the port height(timing)? The big GG mystery.
I've experimented with no port shrouding @ BDC and did not lose the tractor factor. I can't say what happened beyond the mid-range, as I was chasing the 300 phantom power loss.
I picked up a custom fat gasket to replace my...
No dangers. Now if there's too much advance, then detination occurs, that, not so good.
The retard is a milder tune, so to speak. Runs cooler in the tight stuff, even a little more over-rev occurs. Too retarded and starting issues will surface.
A couple mm's is no big deal in either direction.
