I started riding at 21 after coming home from my overseas stint in the Army in 1968. Kind of a late start compared to a lot of guys, but I think I've more than made up for it. I didn't keep track of the number of enduros I've ridden, but probably 400-500. I'm 64 now and have as much fun as ever.
Good ride Mike, but Layton told me that you keyed off him all day. Said he was getting tired of slowing down waiting for you to catch up.
McNut, I think you were the guy I talked to at the first out check. I was the guy with the flat tire on the 300 KTM. By the time I got back to the pits it...
Height makes a difference because of more leverage a taller rider exerts on the frame. I'm 5'8" and one of my riding buddies is 6'5". We're about the same speed and weight and both ride 300's, but his spring rate is heavier than mine.
Farringer and Laffertys' recent results in the NEPG races is what gives. I think if I buy some blue plastic for my 2010 KTM 300XCW I will automatically pick up my speed. After all, its' the same bike as the new Husaberg save the cc forks.
The bike has about 12 to 15 hours on it. I bought it last winter and then had surgery that prevented me from riding till recently. It's in like new condition with lots of extras. It's got two trail rides on it. Chadwick, Mo. and the Black Hills of South Dakota. I'd guess 150 to 180 miles...
I took the side covers off and started the bike to see what happened with the linkage. On the left side the bearing moved in and out about 1/8" at idle. Is this normal? Also the shaft that the bearing is mounted to has threads but no nut. Is that right?
On the right side the actuator seems to...
My 2011 has the same symptoms. It's been that way since new. I thought it was jetting also, but I've pretty much got it running strong.... all but the bottom end. I guess I didn't think about the power valve. Please explain what to look for and how to adjust it if that is indeed the problem.
I started riding at 21 right after I got out of the Army in 1968. I'm 64 now and it's still the only sport or activity that has held my interest continuously for all these years. I've lost count of the bikes I've had over the years, but I kept a few favorites.

The Moose pegs are way too sharp. I think I could shave with them. While putting them on I had visons of falling on one and bleeding to death. I ground them down so they're not so lethal.
Well, I certainly didn't expect to stir up so many people with my original post.
I'm new to Gas Gas bikes but have raced off road for more than 40 years. Although now older (64) and admittedly slower than I used to be I still retain the ability to evaluate suspension performance accurately...
I went out last weekend for the first ride on my 11 250 with the zoke-Ohlins suspension. The shock seems to be OK. Nothing special, but works as well as the shock on my 300 KTM. The front is another story. These are the worst performing forks I have ridden on in 25 years. I'm not posting on here...
