    EC200 Cylinder Measurements

Just wanted to post an update to this thread: Clay made good and sent a replacement bike, which I have to say, I don't think many other brand's distributors would do. So thank-you Clay. I've only gotten a couple short rides on it, so I'm still working on getting it set up, but definitely a big...

    EC200 Cylinder Measurements

Thanks for dealing with this Clay, I have been in contact with Scott and will get it crated up ASAP. I really hope this is an eye opener for the factory in terms of q.c., this could have been a much more drawn out issue if the person who received this bike didn't know to work with the guys here...

    EC200 Cylinder Measurements

Thanks Clay, please keep me posted. Thanks for double checking Zman, that actually makes it about 1/4mm worse, either way it's out to lunch. Wes.

    EC200 Cylinder Measurements

Yep, looks that way. I was hoping it would be something as simple as machining the cylinder but no such luck. Definitely a significant machining error from the factory. Wes.

    EC200 Cylinder Measurements

Well, there's the problem. Probably worst case scenario (pun intended), the crank center to base gasket measurement is out 1.96mm from Zman's. This explains the 4mm squish when it is usually around 2mm on the Gassers, and why the piston is 1-2mm below the exhaust port at BDC. Thanks for all the...

    EC200 Cylinder Measurements

OK, got a few more numbers here: 1. Base gasket surface to crank center line is 3.8705" (98.31mm) 2. Base gasket surface to connecting rod small end center line is 2.340" (59.44mm) 3. Calculated rod length center to center is 4.9305" (125.23mm) Jakobi, if you could give me the rod measurement...

    EC200 Cylinder Measurements

Thanks Noobi, now I'm even more worried because mine is 100.5mm. If the cylinder is good then that pretty much leaves the machining on the cases as the issue. If anyone has a cylinder off they could measure with a caliper just to make sure, I'd appreciate it. If anyone has the top end off their...

    EC200 Cylinder Measurements

Thanks for the piston measurement Hannes, it is the same as mine so I guess that rules out the piston. Anyone have a cylinder height measurement? Wes.

    EC200 Cylinder Measurements

Thanks Roverhybrids, but I do need a bit more accurate number, I suspect it's out about 2-3mm. Wes.

    EC200 Cylinder Measurements

Mark at Gofasters is working on it, I'm just on an extremely tight timeline. If the crank stroke was too long the squish would be too tight, if the stroke was too short the piston would be high at BDC so I don't think its the crank. Wes.

    EC200 Cylinder Measurements

Glen, I totally agree. My concern is that the factory 200 pipe has been on backorder for 3 months, how long is it going to take to get a new motor?? Our riding season up here is short enough, I'm actually contemplating pulling my 07 250 motor and installing it in this frame, or just ride the...

    EC200 Cylinder Measurements

It may come down to that, but if anyone has the cylinder height measurement I could prove that this is the problem and hopefully work this out through warranty. Biggest problem right now is that I'm less than a week from a long weekend camping/riding trip and I need this sorted before that. Wes.

I believe the 12/13 rads are slightly narrower, but I think everything else is the same. The 12/13 Emperor rads guards are a different part number than the earlier ones. Wes.

    EC200 Cylinder Measurements

I could machine the base gasket surface without touching the nikasil as long as the casting is ok and the skirt of the cylinder doesn't hit anything in the case when it drops down 2.5mm. Maybe I'll check that clearance too, just to be sure. Wes.

    EC200 Cylinder Measurements

This is the new bike I just bought. I have been struggling to get it running decent on the bottom end, numerous jetting combos including 2 different slides and 4 different needles, tried a DEP 200 pipe, then decided to do a compression test which revealed 90psi compression. From there I pulled...
