05' EC300 Dual Mapped CDI?

Anyone know if the 05' EC300 CDI has the option of dual mapping. In other words, can I buy the 06' switch and add it to my CDI. I saw this mentioned on TalkingSmack forum. The bike year was quoted(05') but not the model

I remember someone saying that early '05 models might not have the updated CDI. Later models do - regardless of displacement of the bike.

If you want to pick up the entire CDI with the handlebar switch - North Tahoe Motorsports (A sponsor here) has one listed on their e-bay store at http://stores.ebay.com/NORTH-TAHOE-MOTORSPORTS. The owner is a really nice guy - Bob Piper.

If the CDI is mounted to the rear fender and there is a short wire looped out of it with bullet connetors then its switchable.

dual ignition

hi,i've just got my hands on ec250 (05) ex-works bike,i looked into this and mine has two loose wires at the cdi unit,1 orange and 1 black, these 2 wires connected up to the dual ignition switch will give you the hi-lo ignition mapping.
hope this helps
the switch only costs £5 here in the uk.

The 05 is supposed to have the dual CDI, but for some reason, not all do. If it's under the gas tank, it's single map, if it's in the airbox, mounted to the fender, it's dual, and you just need to put a switch on there between the wire loop. The 300 is supposed to have a noticeable change in the use of the switch, so I would use it if I had it.
