12' silencer

Thinking of cutting my Q-stealth down 5''. Removing the S/A obviously.
Any thoughts before hand? The end cap is very heavy as well? The
Cannon R/C looks nice. Any thoughts on round vs. oval?

You could cut it down to where the inner perforated tube would end at the end cap, but it would be a strange looking affair. Now your exhaust outlet would be even closer to you and the oily swirl would coat both you and the bike. Much better to go with a skinny silencer that is roughly the same length as stock. This would tuck in far better.

Thanks for the input Glenn and Neil. I'm putting it back together and ordered
a Cannon from Mark should be here fri.

Cannon Racecraft from GoFasters. It's a good silencer, but needs a bit of work to fit proper. Worth it though.

So it is for the 2011 and earlier models, just like everything else out there?

No it's for the '12/'13. The bend is perfect and its stainless and aluminum. Front hole needs some elongation, stinger may need a few mm off, and supplied S/A looks like junk. Doesn't sound too impressive, but its no big deal and it performs very well and is much more compact.

Has anyone tried the Leo Vince silncer on the 2012? I see them listed on the Leo Vince mainpage, but not on the USA/Canada page...
They are pretty slim looking...

Almost everyone I've seen on the forum that had them didn't care for them much. To me that's why the tc2 has been around so long because its simple small and works great.

Trevor, I called FMF, they have no plans for anything but the OEM Stealth for a new platform GG. I guess there making good $$ on those turds between GG and Beta. '07-'11 silencer is a no go. Bend is way off, not like making an old one fit to a '07-'11 subframe. What would work, is to cut out and use the inlet pipe section of the Stealth on a TC2, or anything else really. A simple aluminum strap across the mounts, with new mounting holes drilled and using isolators like on my Cannon, will take care of hanging it.

Some day I have to get a Tig welder to play with this stuff.

Hoping GMP see's this, so i got the cannon late Fri. and it was a tight fit
going on the stinger(end of pipe) seems the silencer / pipe will need to be moded. one thought is to cut the stinger a bit (about 1/2'') to allow the bolt holes to line up??? I'm pretty sure i read where you have done the same.
Thanks.

John,

I had the same issue. The stinger fit sucks. I expanded it a bit by repeatedly hammering in a socket that was snug. A PIA but it helped. I tried a brake cyl hone, but the SS just ate the stones up in minutes and did little. I ended up only cutting about 3mm from the pipe stinger. I did not want to cut too much in case I needed to use the Stealth for some reason. The less patience you have with the inlet the more you will cut! One thing for sure it will not spooge from the joint! The mounting holes will not line up anyway, check with just the silencer you will see. You need to elongate the rear hole. I used thinner isolators, and now the side number plate mounts with a nut on a stud that also holds the silencer on the outside. I'll take more pics tonight if it will help.

Its a combination of excellent and crappy workmanship. I'll admit half way through the job I was really pissed off, all this special fix stuff is getting old. It really woke the bike up though, hope the 200 reacts the same.
