yes my 2001 gas gas just keeps eating spark plugs tried all sorts of plugs and after about 2 hours the bike coughs then the spark plug will not spark any more then put a new one in and it fires up again also bulbs keep blowing on bike and change the faults are related maybe?? please help

Sounds like the bike is jetted really rich, is the plug coming out oily black? In my '99 I run a Br8ev, a 165 main, an LTR needle and I think a 45 pilot, and the bike has been great up to around 8000 ft elevation here in Colorado. It's courious that you mention blowing bulbs in the headlight and associating it with fouling plugs, because I experienced a similar situation years ago. I've since put a Moose voltage regulator to replace the GG stock vr. I've not fouled a plug or blown a bulb in the headlight since. How are your reeds and topend? Those can contribute to some of the plug fouling issues as well.

If you are near sea level the stock needle in 2nd clip position, 175 main and a 42 pilot should point you in the right direction depending on what you are at right now. I run NGK BR8EIX Iridum Extream plugs.

yes also just bought a moose volt pack it has yellow and red wire how do i wire this up and the ec300 has only a yellow wire and a earth is red earth?

sorry i dont understand i hook the yellow wire from the regulator to the black earth, thought u would have to hook it to yellow on the bike, then what do i do with the red wire

For a plug try the B8EG, the "R" designates resistor type plug. My '00 XC250 would foul as many as I could afford to replace, even after LTR jetting and the head squish mod, it kept frying the resistor in the plug. 4 years ago I bought 2 B8EG's to try and have not had to use the 2nd one yet. If you haven't bought the jet kit from LTR do that too. Good luck,
