Fellow Gassers:

What's the consensus of how to wave goodbye to my 2001 XC300? Complete or part her out?

Not enough room in the garage for an incoming classic Camaro convertible.

Thanks

300 part out

First dibs on the Rear Wheel ! :D

Also interested in a spare rear shock.....

Prices?

Jeff in CA.

send it in a care package to me .........

honestly, i don't know what your market is like, but here there is not much market for them.. too few know anything about them.. I really think you would proabably do better parting it out, but who knows.
Maybe one of you riding buds might want it ?

that being said, i would hate to part out my 300... too good of a bike.
I see by your sig you have suitable replacements.. it would be a hard choice..

what year camaro ???

The only way my riding buds would buy it was if it was Orange!

Right now having an out of state '68 independently inspected, we'll see after it (the inspection) comes in.

be very careful with the inspection process....My boss had one done and bought in ny (we are in TX) inspecion came back good, car was junk...
65 gto convertible 389 tri power 4 speed... car was ok, quarters were junk and obvious. car was original a/t, they hacked the floor for the 4spd shifter, drive shaft caps were welded in, ring gear missing 2 teeth, and a crack in 1 cylinder... no way you could miss all that. he got some money out of them to fix it and the car is cool, just a hassel...

my orange buddies would not admit they like my gasser either.....

Scary...

A local guy has a 1971 Chevelle 454 convertible that's in good shape for a driver, but not great shape. Mismatched front door panels, spot rust on the bumper, scratched driver's side widow, a few paint occlusions, basically OK mechanically. He just had it appraised for 2x the asking price!! Like you I figure the inspectors can be bought.

Thanks for the advice

you bet.. i had never heard of anything like that either.... I know a guy who appraises old cars sometimes and he says it is a hassel.. People tell him what they have spent on the car and want an appraisal for that amount.. If he wont do that, they get someone else to appraise it... he has an nsra appraisal license.
the gto was not trash, just not as described. It was sucking antifreeze out of the cracked cylinder wall and would barely run when they unloaded it. He was sick.. He got a butler motor for it and it badddd fasstt.. I would think now is the time to buy one of those cars, the prices around here anyway are back close to what I think is fair...
68-70 charger, gtx, or roadrunner for me .... btw...

back to you regular scheduled program.... I think you could part it out on here and do pretty good. Alot of those bikes still around.. does it have the did U rims ??? mine does, those would go in a heartbeat...

Prices are down now for sure. We have some friends that do the cruise night thing and occasionally will meet them for dinner and then walk around checking out the cars. Generally speaking, the better restored ones are now selling for about 60% of the restoration cost, not 100% like 2 years ago. So, from an investment sake now it a good time IMHO.

Mopar guy, huh? Well...if I could find a cherry 67 - 69 Dart convertible with either a 340 or 383 4-speed I'd be all over it. Had a 67 coupe with a 340 from a Charger when I was a mere pup, what a sleeper. The soft spot still lingers!

Yes the '01 has the DID U rims, probably the only rims I haven't had to replace at least once, they're good stuff. Would hate to part it out and only be able to sell off the wheels, shock and pipe. I'll have to look through the old classifieds and get a feel I guess.

yeah... pretty much a mopar fan (but am a parts mgr at a gm dealership)...kinda like being at an AA meeting every day..

have a friend with a 383 cuda that is pretty quick and another with a 73 road runner 383 pistol grip 4 speed... the coolest one I have had was a 71 screamin green 340 duster.. We had mopars all growing up, my 2 favs were a 65 gt dart, they traded that in on a 68 charger, then cool stuff went away and we got a monaco.... They told me my grandmother freaked out one day when our charger and my uncle's r/t charger were in the driveway...at the same time... 6000 dollars worth of cars...in one driveway..... wow....
I prefer the more square cars, so some darts, some b's, depends on the year for me... a big block dart would be ok with me...I just want one to carry the lf wheel a little bit...

will find one someday, i look all the time. Right now i have 4 dirt bikes so i am not pushing that yet..we just moved out into the country with 2.5 acres and a shop, so this year has been kinda expensive. The wife knows i want one and she does too, so..

i love the did's... easiest tire change i have ever done..and like you said, tough. Last ride on mine, i guess I got a flat and did not notice, had it in a big berm long corner and all of the sudden the back tire came off.. they guy behind me started yelling, he said the chain put the tire back, limped it back to the truck, destroyed the tire, bead lock, rim strip and tube... wheel was fine.... I would think it would all sell except the frame, but hopefully you could sell it complete and not mess with that...

i bought my 01 here about 2 years ago.. 2200.00. bought a 2000 250 last year for 1800. have seen one other 2 stroke around here an 02 300 sold last year, i think it was 2500... that is about the extent of what i have seen... there is a 200 some one posted on here in a craiglist ad for like 750......probably not as nice as yours...

good luck dude...

My Dart had a Sox and Martin pinion snubber and wide rubber for the day. You'd get your wish on the lf wheel.

I could raise the snubber, idle along in 1st, tap the gas pedal a few times and find the front suspension harmonic and then bounce the front wheels about a foot off the ground so easy. It was this ugly Brown with a red bench, paid $650 and had to buy a Holley for $75 to get her to clean up, what a car for a college kid...

3.55 rear posi, through the traps still in third at 12.6's with street tires, driving it to the strip, fun times.

Off topic, or what
