2006 Airbox pointless?

Hi, I took my bike on a 200 mile jaunt in very wet conditions the other day, jesus christ the amount of water the bike drinks is unbelievable!!! Can you buy an airbox that doesn't let everything in? Or is it just best practice to seal it with silicone or something?

Check if the hole in the bottom of the air box is free. Usually if water comes in, it can flow out.

Should be a block of foam in the bottom of the air box, to prevent the water from sloshing in.
