2008 vs. 2010

I've done some searching and a lot of reading but haven't quite answered my own question. What exactly is different about the 2010's from a 2008. How many of the 2010 changes can be retrofitted to a 2008?

The 2010 has these updates.

New frame with 'microfusion' frame rails
New 2010 spec. sachs forks in red.
New plastics, mudguards, rad panels etc.
New stickers
Colored parts (Yokes, hubs, rims etc.)
New one piece tank in dark grey colour
New wavy discs
New rear brake pedal
New water pump cover


All of these should fit the 2008.
SInce I can't afford a 2010, I'll be putting 2010 plastics on my 2007.

Any details on the new frame?

Not much info out on the frame.
Just by eye balling it, has different shaped tubing and the foot peg mounts are now cast.

SInce I can't afford a 2010, I'll be putting 2010 plastics on my 2007.

The 2010 plastics will fit 07/08 bikes? I haven't been able to get any info on this otherwise. Would be nice to know that I could update. I heard that the new frame was very similar dimension-wise, but that maybe the new B form will alter the fit of the plastics....

The new frame is more rigid, being a B-profile, instead of the previous D-profile. I guess that might make a difference in the handling, though I can't imagine that I would notice it (slow rider). I heard (read in UK mag TBM, maybe?) that the new frame dimensions were very similar, if not identical to the "old" one, no guarantees though since it's hearsay. I was just curious if gasgasman knew for sure if the new plastics will fit fine on a 08.

2010 rad shrouds fit the 07-09s, not sure what else fits.

At the GasGas dealer show they said the plastics interchange but the 07-09 airbox is larger and will show below the 2010 rear fender/ number plate combo. The airbox is supposed to interchange as well.
