2010 EC300 exhaust mount question

While checking exhaust mounts on (new to me) bike I noticed this weird isolator mount, its like 2 metal tabs with rubber inserts seperated by a 1/2 inch or so. Is it supposed to be like this or should they be touching/connected? #7

Yes. It is two metal plates that are bonded together with the rubber piece.

Often break given time but have to vibration isolate mount front and top on most bikes.

Ah, well thats great info thanks. Maybe I can get some of the vibration down by replacing this part. I think I broke it when I loosened the subframe to tilt it a little to get the carb back in, I forgot to loosen the pipe bolts as well DUH!

I've seen those w/ a shoulder bolt and a locknut thru the plates

new one took weeks to arrive from spain and immediately broke. i'm gonna try to mechanically fasten them together that's probably why you've seen one with a lock nut through it

Odds are that if a brand new one broke immediately then the pipe is tweaked out of alignment.

I think there is an equivalent Honda or Kawasaki part...I will try to find the part number for future reference.

Why not buy oem mount from cpd in Texas ?
Central power sports direct . They took down parts diagrams for older bikes so you need to have your own part numbers and put into search block . Cpd used to be gofasters up north but branched off to make cpd .
