My buddy's 2011 six days seems to have puked all the oil out through the Ohlins shock seal and has no dampening now, has anybody else had this happen? I thought I read another thread mentioning this and was wondering how common this is?
Same here. First after 80 hours then after 100 hours. Local Ohlins guru said that service should be done in every 30 hours. My shock is now modified with better dustwiper and wrap around neoprene guard. It wraps around spring and schock body to prevent schock to freese in our chilly conditions.
Yep also happened to me at the 40hr mark. Feel it is a good investment to get suspension serviced every 12mths max, depending on type or riding (trail / racing)
Those seals are quad ring seals. They will roll inside once they start to get flat spots. Also they have to be positioned correctly with the spacer.
We are working on the fix....for all of us.
