2013 EC200 spark plug boot NLA?

My gasgas has intermittent weak spark (might fire occasionally but doesn't run) and I discovered the spark plug boot reads OL with my multimeter (should read around 5kohms) so I think the resistor is burned out. NGK says this part is discontinued, does anyone know if there is a suitable replacement available? I see cheapo chinese replacements on amazon but want something OEM or equivalent.

Another curiosity I have relates to the overall resistance of the ignition system. I'm running a BR8ES, which I believe is a resistance plug (bike ran great for over 40 hours with this plug before the cap burned out). Is running a resistor cap and resistor plug intended to reduce noise suppression, improve reliability or some other reason? Seems to me that it would result in a weaker spark than an ignition system with a resistor in one or the other (but not both). If I ditch the resistor cap wouldn't it result in a hotter stronger spark? Any caveats? I don't run a trail tech on this bike only an hour meter. Thanks in advance!

You can use a cap without a resistor.
The coil will supply whatever voltage is required to jump the spark plug gap (within reason). The resistor won't reduce the spark intensity.

Used the blue NGK silicon caps ,originally for jetskis but most bike shops carry them. Well, over here. 5k and fairly impervious to vibration. You won't lose spark power with the std cap resistance.
