2013 GasGas Plastics

Just thought it is worth noting.

I used the GoFasters number plate mounting kit to mount a 2009 CRF 450 number plate to my 2013 GasGas 300. To be fair I only used the upper bracket to assist in mounting. I used the headlight mount pegs on the stock front fender. I had to drill alignment holes to allow the crf number plate to slip over the pegs and stay put.

It seems there is a lot of wiring behind the plate so I mainly fitted the plate to allow for the wiring to not "squeek" I will play more later. Ridepg.com graphics are very, very nice.

So, I wanted black rear number plates. So first thought, buy 2014 plates. Nope, does not work, you need a 2014 airbox to allow for this not a big deal but I will have to buy some 13 number plates instead!

Why do you say the 14 side panels won't fit on 12-13? I installed a 14 plastic kit on my 12 no problem.

The alignment holes/tabs are not the same. I would imagine the fenders/shrouds may be the same, but the rear number plates are far from the same. I think if you swapped the airbox, that may allow for the 14 number plates. Maybe if you have the aluminum subframe? I may have to go do some detective work to see the differences.

Well I installed the alum subframe at the same time. I guess the subframe cover slots are different? I'll check when I get a chance.

Ok, you have the plastic subframe on your 13' and the side panels don't fit? But they will fit the aluminum subframe? If this is the case I have the aluminum subframe. Is there a definite answer to this?

I'm guessing it may be a 14 subframe. Do you have 2 tab holes or just one tab hole and one bolt hole? The 14 plates have one tab and one hole on the left side of the bike. 13 plates have two tab holes.

If you have the alum subframe and single tab number plates now, the 14 number plates will fit. Just lose the left hand alum spacer from the mounting bolt.

I put my 13' side plates on my 14' and all fits. That is aluminum to aluminum subframes.

*I just tried to mount my 14' plastics on my 13' and the airbox is different. There are two cut outs on the 14' box that the side panels fit into. This can be modded into the 13' with a dremel tool.
