2K-3 test values?

I would have though that this would be well covered in here, maybe even in a technical article, but I can't find anything very definitive. What test values should we see when testing a 2K-3 ignition for resistance and voltage across the exciter coil leads and pulse coil leads. The only numbers I've come up with here are from Patti Larsen in the 'Really Need Help With My Electrical" thread (which is not atributed to any particular source), and I found one other post in KTMTalk that had someone's calims for the 2K-3, supposedly taken from their KTM tech manual. My problem is Patti says I should be seeing around 27 ohms resistance in the exciter coil, and about 18 VAC across the leads when kicked vigorously, but the KTMTalk guy says 12.8 ohms. Mine measures about 12.4 ohms, and puts out about 12.5 VAC.
What's up with this spec? Are Kokusan 2K-3 ignitions NOT all the same? Hasn't anyone tried a KTM ignition swap yet? It's been talked about for years...
Somebody, somewhere, has to be sitting an an official source of this type of info. Please share.
Anyone got a spare stator they'd like to loan out as a test unit?

From the 2003 KTM 250-380 engine service manual.

All readings in ohms with +/- 15% tolerance

Pulser coil - 100 ohms (red to green)
Exciter - 12.7 ohms (black/red to red/white)
Charge coil - 0.65 ohms (ground to yellow)
.................- 0.16 ohms (white to yellow)

The exciter for 2k-1, 2k-2 and 2k-4 is listed as 24 ohms.

ps
you need a high end meter if you want to accurately measure 0.16 ohms

This page is taken from the 2006 GasGas workshop manual. It lists some of the resistance values that you are interested in.

EDIT: Looking at Dave's post, it appears the resistance values are the same.

Sweet, thanks guys. It looks like I need to dig further for my lack of spark, though. I have the wiring harness out and cleaned up for close inspection, should be fun.
Wish me luck.

Tim,

I just spent the best part of a day troubleshooting a GG300 spark issue. I can safely say I now know the wiring like the back of my hand. Any questions you might have, feel free to ask.

A quick way to eliminate your kill switch wiring is to unplaug the bacl wire with yellow stripe by the CDI. It has it's own connector there that you can unplug.

stator readings

Tim .The readings are from a new oem 2k2 $380. dealer cost stator . 27ohms -18 vac . My original stator failed when I turned my bike off one day and had no spark . open stator reading. I went the cheap route and bought a moose stator, it had 12.6 ohms and 12.5 vac .It would start and run the bike ,but if i turned it off it would never restart hot . Moose sent me another stator, same reading same problem .I bought a new oem gasgas stator, took the above reading and never had a problem since . lance larsson

Having same problem as above weak spark and only 12 v out of exiter .
The specs for ktm ingition state around 40v ac exiter .
Have tried coil ecu change so stator must be dodgy even though resitance is ok .
