Hi All,
Cladoo pointed out to me that he was having difficulty uploading his avatar (the little graphic that you can have next to your username). I didn't realize that this was not enabled for the user group 'registered users' - so I flipped the switch and you should be "good to go".
I set a limit for avatar size to 4kbytes (to keep page load time reasonable) and the maximum dimension for the avatar is 100 pixels X 100 pixels.
