Hi to all,

Im looking for a gas gas ec 515 2009 review or ride test, or any info about the bike motor performance, reliability, suspensions, overheating problems (common in 2008 models) etc. If anyone have one please tell me his experience because im interested in one, thanks in advance.

i think gg should make a bigger 2t as well. i think im ready for a 500 and i too, would rather fly the gg flag but i guess at some point it will have to become an afcr500 if i live lonng enough to master that an atk? ill have to put a special note in my will "if(name here) is found deceased, physically intertwined with a tree, consider it suicide!" i personally would require a deathwish to get on one of those things! maybe in 10more years
im really looking forward to an elecric start 300. i hate kicking, i really should get a nicer pair of boots!

wtf?? 500?? the older cr500 is about the same as a ktm or gg 300.. The Honda hasnt changed the 500 in forever,, I dragraced several cr and kx 500's with my 98 ktm 300 exc and it was very close.. I was ahead of the honda and a hair behind the KX.. now the GG I've been told is very close to the ktm,, I've never riden the GG 300,, but spent way too much time on the ktm..

Anybody throw a leg over this beast in the real world yet?? I've seen racers views a while back and some stuff from the mags... but anybody have one that rides trails?? I'm getting close to my next bike purchase.... need info...

ive ridden one cr, 98 .040 overbore, it was significantly more powerful than my 300. i have no problems keeping my front tire on the ground, that 500 it was all i could do to ride in a line let alone up a slope..i guess that was a while ago..

I rode a 91 cr 500 that had lots of work done to it.. fast ok,, but lightswitch power and completely useless in the woods.. and in a long drag race my 98 KTM 300 exc out ran it once in 4th I cought up and ran away from him.. He topped out about 70mph maybe 75.. That exc could stand on one wheel at 80.. My buddy who had the KX 500 had a big flywheel and he was a very big man,, so he made it liik like an 80.. it wasnt fast with him on it.. and I dont think it was as good as the current 300's out there..

Stupid woods bike. Good ice racer, big time fun. Like a 60 HP snow cone machine when you twist it!

Congratulations!Hope it works as good as it looks.I might go for one of those if I go 4 stroke next but for now I love my 300! Let us know how it compares to other bikes.;)

Thanks men , today a put a good ride in a extreme enduro circuit here in Copiapo Chile, here is my first impressions and pre race setup of my bike:

- First i have removed all the clamps of the radiator/oil hoses and replace for a ones stronger and that can be remove and tighten easily.

- installation of Hyde skid plate (adapted from a 2t model), 1 radiator intercooler, front axle puller, Fastway Rotor Sharkfin, LTR GP Radiator Braces, Acerbis Uniko Hand Guards.

- Set the idle speed at 2.200 rpm for prevent stalling.

-After de breakin I changed the engine oil for a motul racing 4t 15-50W.

First riding impressions:

The Good:

-Well the bike start so well with the e-starter, in every condition, cold-hot weather, warm-cold engine, its more responsive than the e-started installed in my old fsr450 2008.

-The Power from the bottom is so smooth and with a TON of torque, its incredible how well this machine pulls from nearly no rpms, its as good (or more) than my previous ec300 2008. The mid range is astonish and the high is like jet turbine, simply awesome motor. (Not prone to stalling :))

- The modifications made in the cooling system for this model with the inclusion of a radiator fan has tranformed this bike in a dream come true, no more over-boiling in hard conditions and in a extremely hot weather (here in Copiapo the temps are above 82F).

-The new sach suspension in the front works very very well, its stiffer than the marzzochi and this is good for racing, it still eats the tiny things and bumps very well, but in the heavy bumps and big jumps this thing just stay firm and planted, no violent reactions. The sach shock works well but a little soft, nothing than a few clicks can`t solve.

-The bike is well planted, in the corner it is like a train on the rails, very nimble for a not so light bike. Overall im so happy with this machine, its a big improvement over the last model EC515.

The Bad:

- The starter kick pedal is unusable, i just removed it.
- The right foot peg have so little folding.
- A bit heavy
- The gas tank is small (only 7.2 litros), 80KM of autonomy in a mix of race/touring pace.

Well this is my short first impressions, later i will post more info for this awesome machine.

Nice bike. About the kick starter. It does actually work. Even with no battery in the bike. Get the bike to its compression stroke until you can almost stand on it, go one click past, let the starter go all the way up and kick it like a man all the way through the stroke. It will start.

Good bike. Isn't that low end amazing.
