Hey...I was looking to cross referents my rear sprocket and stumbled on this thread...when are you guys planning this ride? We are putting on two H/S in the next month so it will be pretty busy for me, but it might fit in.

Booked

I will be Instructing at the OTRA riding clinic on the 27th in Bear Creek, and working the Naramata Hare Scramble ( The Sanchez) on the 28th. I might be able to go for a rip on Friday if there is a few guys around.

I'm still in. My brother will be there too (but not on a GG). We're intermediate recreational riders who ride for (our level of) fun. :p We don't know Bear Creek, so having a guide would be a benefit. No matter, I plan to GPS-mark the truck and will have no worries if we get lost or left behind. I suspect Bear Creek will be busy (with the clinic and the normal weekend crowd). On Sunday Dean and I plan to ride again from my house in Summerland; we can ride all day without seeing another bike. :D I've got bedroll and garage space if anyone is interested in riding some of the trails down here. Perhaps I can contact a "fast guy" to lead you guys with a need for speed?

Sounds good. I am not fast by my standards but would just like to ride some where different for once. I am going to bring my Friend on his RM125 and he is much faster then myself. Sounds like a good weekend.

I'm probably still in, I'll confirm when I get home on Sunday (I'm still in Europe).

What's the final list of people coming?

Unfortunately I am out as well. I have been to Bear Creek a couple times and it is an awesome place that I am sure would be better with a guide. I was looking forward to this but it will have to happen another time.

how far is this from whistler? I'll be there from oregon ariving on friday the 26th, maybe I should bring a bike with me. any idea if I need anything to get my dirt bike in and out of canada? bruce

Well, MapQuest estimates +5hours/420km from Whistler to Kelowna (via Pemberton, Lillooet, Lyyton, Spences Bridge, Merritt, and then the Connector [97C]). That's a helluva a drive for a ride! And there shouldn't be any hassles getting a bike into Canada. Unfortunatley, it sounds like the ride is imploding anyways. :( Perhaps the timing isn't great for everyone. There's a riding clinic at Bear Creek that same Saturday, and there's an enduro in Naramata (near Penticton) on the Sunday, so things are busy.

As I said earlier, regardless, my brother and I will be riding/exploring around my home in Summerland that weekend. So if you just have to have your 2 wheel fix, you could ride down here.

Regards.

Dale

Les and I are "out" as well. I am too busy with work and too many chores around the house to do before the rains set in...

sounds like a lot of fun but after driving from oregon the day before, it sounds like quite a ways to go. so I think I'll explore areas closer to whistler. do you know of good riding in that area? anyone local to there that rides?
