great, just got the same damn braces for my '09 ec300, haven't put them on yet though. tomorrow's project, i'll let you know if i have the same trouble.

You could grind the offending contact areas or...
send it back and order a set of Force Accessories radiator guards.

The Force Accessories are very strong and bolt right on without issues.

I was but for $95 I could not see taking a risk making them worse..

I suspect you have guards for an '07+.

yes they are.. traded them in for power valve cover..

I second the Force radiator braces. I just ordered another pair for my ec250 I had a pair on my sold fse450 and they saved the rads many times.

U could do what GMP does, and get the flatland braces and beef them up. There's some good reading on the subject between the CRD braces and the Flatland braces and the type of terrain U ride. Good luck.

well, i was able to get mine on my '09 ec300 today quite easily, but i must admit the bike is brand new. i'm guessing that your expansion chamber mounts are out of adjustment and the rads are tweeked, even if just a little bit, this is my guess on the grief. hope the work out for you, once on, the seem rock solid.
