Blister

I have been having a probelm with blister. I never really had this problem before that I can remember. Yesterday I was riding and within 20 minutes I had warm spots on my right palm, 20 minutes later full blown blisters ready to pop. I replaced my grips on Saturday morning with ProTaper Pillow Tops.

i am using Hebo Fat Bars. I have not put on my WER damper since I installed my USD WP forks..Could that be the problem? The forks really work great and are a huge confidence booster.

Thanks

What bars are you running? I'm guessing they have too much sweep. Also, what gloves do you use? There's two schools of thought on gloves, some like super thin gloves that don't bunch up (this is what I use) while other like a thicker padded glove. I run a thin glove and tape my hand plus use modified palm savers and do not have blister issues. Throughout the ISDE, where I spent 7-8 hours a day on the bike, I only have minor blister issues considering the amount of time spent on the bike and how rough the course was.

For tape, I use Leuko Tape P which is what doctors/physio tape that's difficult to find, but does not come unstuck. This stuff is the bomb as far as tape goes and is the best stuff on the market.

Speedy,

Thanks for your valued input. I am using Hebo Fat Bars, I do not know the sweep. GoFaster set me up with them over a year ago. If the bar were rotated to far forward could that be also aiding in the problem? I am not a sit down rider, I ride 95% standing, so I have my bars rotated for comfort while standing.

Now that I really think about it, when I changed forks and clamps is when I started to really have this problem. As for gloves, I use MSR NXT gloves and gear. They are lightly paded, I do not like a thick glove.

I have been taping my hand for races, but for pratice riding I go un taped. I will look into the tape you recommend.

Any other thoughts or ideas would be helpfull.

Thanks

If the bars are rotated too far forward it could cause issues. I use MSR NXT gloves and have never had a problem. For reference I only tape my hands for races, practicing I just wear palm savers and my gloves.

Maybe look into some under gloves? I think MSR makes a set.
