Hi all,
My txt pro 300 decided not to get out of bed today. wouidn't fire no matter what I did.
The kill switch had stopped working a few weeks ago, but all was fine with running etc.

After no joy with cleaning plug i wondered about the kill switch.
I removed it and the terminals were away fron the switch.
I now have bare wires at the end of the wiring.

Can someone tell me, should one be grounded to the bar and the other left free or should they be joined and grounded to the bar (as in does the kill seperate the wires when used or join them?

I'll be getting a new switch soon.
This might not be related to the not starting, but i want to rule it out before digging deeper.

cheers

The switch should just complete the circuit , if they are not connected you can rule the switch out , thats if its the same as my ec

Black/Yellow on CDI turns into Yellow/Black or Yellow/White and runs up to the Kill Switch. Yellow/Green which is Ground also runs up to the Kill Switch.

Circuit open = bike runs.
Circuit closed = kick until your face turns blue sucker.

No grounding is done through the handlebar, however if the wire from the CDI touches the bars, you can get a poor ground through the headstock bearings.

update on bike,

Kill switch was unrelated to the problem.
I cleaned out the carb, changed fuel, checked all connections, etc
I had a spark, but it was obviously not strong enough as a new plug went in and she fired on the second kick.

Kill switch is now two seperate wires until I get another one.
cheers for the info guys.
