Is it an ec or cc on your V5? My 2010 EC250 is a cc (closed course) model which was supplied minus road kit such as speedo, horn, indicators. It does have a working headlight (but no hi/lo beam) and a tail/brake light. These are the basic requirements to enable the bikes to be road registered and used for enduros. It will not pass an MOT in this spec. GasGas UK brought the bikes in with this spec as it kept the price down and most people take the road kit off anyway. I added an hour meter for maintenance purposes. You will have no problem insuring the bike in the UK. Speak to your insurer, they may or may not have the cc model listed. I have mine insured as an ec as my insurer didn't have the cc listed and its an EC250CC on the V5. My friend however is with a different company and has his 2011 insured as a cc. The guy he dealt with even asked him if his was fitted with an Ohlins shock! My advice would be to speak to them rather than doing it online and make sure you are both happy that the bike is insured and legal.
