Hello chaps,

Has anyone fitted one of these to their 2 stroke gasser?

What's the fitment like?

Thanks

What year bike do you have???? 07-09 bikes are a bit of a force fit but it can be done. Doesn't look perfect though at seat/tank/shroud juntion.

Go Fasters mentioned that Clarke is finally going to make a specific tank for the 07-09 bikes but no updates on this in awhile.

I have a 2006.

Any ideas what sort of tank range I'd get with the Clarke doing fairly easy trails?

75 miles

I have an EC300 and can get about 75 miles on the Clarke tank. That was mostly really gnarly single track in the mtns of Idaho, mostly 1-2 gear. About 10 miles back on a road.

I've heard that the RB Designs squish modification will improve fuel mileage.

I have an 04 300(heavy flywheel) with a easy fitting Clarke 3.2 gal, and I have the RB carb and head mods.
Moderate tail speeds 5 and 6th gear 30-45mph, not in the power band. I have gone 85 miles with maybe a cup of fuel left. I filled the tank to the limit, and I'm not a heavy handed rider.
With you across the pond shipping would kill ya for the head and carb mod.
It made the bike more rideable, it lugs nice in the taller gears, and will still rev when you need it too.

Thanks for the info guys, most appreciated.

I did a few calculations on fuel consumption yesterday. I drained the contents of my tank after a ride. I knew how far I had ridden and the tank was brimmed before I set off so I could then work out my tank range.

I did 48 miles and had 2.5l of fuel left, reserve is 1l btw.

With a 9l tank it gives me an approximate tank range of 63 miles.

The measured mileage was 7.38 miles per litre.

The Clarke tank will give me a range of about 84 miles.

This was doing mostly fairly open trails with a bit of road work.

Well the stock tank is 9 litres - not up to speed on gallons and the range is 60ish miles on the trails that I did.
