clutch bleeding woes

having installed a new clutch in my bike, i went to bleed the clutch but found it was not bleeding at all.
So i took it off the slave cylinder and blew some air in it to pop out the piston, everything looked fine so cleaned it up and pushed the piston back in and tried to bleed the system once again but I cant seem to get any fluid through the slave cylinder.

any ideas??

Bleed it backwards with a large syringe first then bleed normally.

if not i bled my clutch last weekend and I had to cover the clutch fluid reservoir with a towel for it to bleed... God knows why perhaps covering it while pumping the lever stopped some air getting in ??

As with the front brake, you have to pull the lever in a few mm to open the "bleed" port.
It is a built in mechanism to prevent air getting in the system when you flip the bike over.
