Clutch Drag?

It seems my 03 200ec is having some clutch drag issues. I've been running Shell Rotella 15-40w non synthetic. I ride in Florida it gets very hot and we have very tight sandy trails. I'll work the clutch hard in the tight 1st & 2nd gear trails. I've heard of bleeding out air bubbles in the the clutch line? Has anybody had this happen to them? Or maybe it's time to replace clutch plates. I've done all the adjusting on the lever. When i engage the clutch and put it in gear and try to push the bike it acts like there is not clutch at all. I have since went back to using basic SAE 10w30 oil and still have dragging issues. Any ideas?

Thanks

Bleed the clutch system be sure you have some freeplay at the lever to allow the master cyl. to fully extend. Try the 5W-40W Rotella synthetic, it will work fine. It works in 4-strokes and there is no way your clutch will get as hot as a dry sump 4-stroke clutch even in Fla.

Too much oil in the gearbox can lead to clutch drag.

The manual says 1L oil. I have been using 0.9L with good results.

I've also noticed that the manual says 1 litre. But the website (www.gasgas.es) says 0.9L. I run 0.9L and it works great, doesn't drag at all.

I just pour it in until I see it in the little window :)
It drags just a tiny bit but I use nice light oil. Putoline Light Gear Oil - specially for 2 stroke gearboxes.

Thanks for the info.

Hey Guys-
Thanks for the info on the clutch dragging. I'll try bleeding the clutch line and then using a few ml's less oil. I'll give it a try this weekend.

Thanks
