Hi all, I'm looking to pick up a bike I can dual sport. I'm seriously considering a 2003 EC300 that's for sale locally. My other option is a Husky WR250/300. I live in NJ, so KTM 2 strokes are no good (can't be plated).
My last dual sport was a Husky TE510. The bike had a monster motor, but felt huge and was very heavy. I sold it after a couple months. I didn't really feel the weight on the test ride, as it was just in the driveway and a dirt road.
Not looking to ride competitively. The bike will spend a majority of it's life on lighter trails. Will probably take it to a couple of beginner MX tracks, and ride to work on local roads when the weather is nice.
Here are my questions:
1. How would this older EC compare to the newer ones? Is there a night and day difference?
2. If anyone has ridden a WR 250/300, how does the gasgas compare? Size, perceived weight, power, handling?
3. What is a good source of maintenance parts in the US?
Thanks for any info.
