Crankshaft flywheel nut

Is the crankshaft flywheel nut reverse thread for all years? This is for a 1998 ec250.

The reason I ask is, I finally got the crankshaft nut off today but it came off with such a fight that it stripped the threads from the inside of the nut. Hopefully the stud end on the crankshaft will be salvageable...anyone know the thread size and pitch etc of that end of the crankshaft?

Otherwise I may be looking for a crank ugh.

Thanks in advance.

After further inspection I think it will be fine if I run a die on the threads. The sludge was mostly from the nut as far as I can tell.

One thing of note though, the crank flywheel nut (on the clutch side) appears to be standard right hand thread. No wonder she blew out. I got the reverse thread info from the rebuild thread on this site, guessing it may not apply to all years...

Attached pic shows right hand thread, just as a sanity check I unbolted the flywheel nut on the ignition side, and it was right hand thread as well.

Picture has a lot of fuzz on the threads from the shop towel and brake cleaner. Threads look worse than they are.

05 200 was a normal Right hand thread both sides but it had a bolt on the clutch side instead of a nut.

Spent a good while trying it left handed, luckily my impact gun isn't very good lol.

It was the same way with my '01 XC 200. Right hand thread on both sides of the crank for the 200's.

Thanks for the replies all! Hopefully this thread will help someone doing a rebuild in the future!
