Does anyone have a set of lower fork guards for a 99 EC300?

I've got a lot of stuff could trade or buy if price is right and in good condition. Would prefer white but not sure what color they even come in. Just don't want to fork out a new price.

I think that's the same as the cr 250 ones right? check the crossreference. If it is it's cheap and you can get it at lots of places.

'99 comes with the conventional forks i suppose, so the CR ones won't fit...
if you have an USD fork it,would be the WP ones and then i think the CR ones would fit.

I'm not going to lie. I'm new to all this and especially new to GG.

How do you tell the difference? The top of the fork is a chrome finish, the lower fork is more grayish. Has Brembo brakes of course but can someone help tell me what I have?

Sorry for the "notknowingmuch" question. I'm trying to learn.

i think you have these kinda forks :

and in this case they used to use this kinda protection :

but you could use "socks" but not everyone is all for them because they tend to collect dirt and make your forks leak.

hope you get the picture now, and don't be affraid to ask us some questions about our gassers.
but try to use the search button too ;-)

good luck with them, i hear they're WP and were not so bad, sometimes even better then later model forks ;)

ciao, Hannes.

Yeah, that is what I have....or at least that is what they look like. Not sure if they are WP but that would be nice as I like WP forks.

So they Acerbis "socks" would be the best or only option. I want to protect them but honestly I don't like the way they look without covers on them either.

Thanks so much for the help guys. And any additional help or if anyone has anything I would appreciate it.

And honestly I'm not worried about the upper fork (the chrome part). It looks fine. It is the lower part near the tire that looks all metal like and just looks bad. Any bikes I have had have always had lower fork covers. So not wanting the upper ones, just the lower ones. If they make them.

all the other bikes must have had Upside dowm fork, Where the crome part is at the bottom.. It's the crome part you would want to protect, and since you have right side up fork on yours, you should get upper guards for it, The bottom part of your fork can surely take the beating..

Oh, ok. I understand. Thanks for the clarification. From a visual point of view the chrome looks great and it's the lower part that is rather ugly so I was hoping to cover it with a guard or something. But now I do understand its the upper chrome part that is the most at risk.

I've been working hard to restore this 99 EC300. New light red plastics, new 2011 styled graphics by PG graphics (which look awesome I think) and new headlight from Trailtech. It is coming along. I'll post pics when get a bit closer.

Love the bike...though it is a devil to kick over sometimes. Is that common with the 99 300s?

if it's the paint starting to flake off, then sand them and give them a repaint with silver or black or any colour you like and add a clearcoat ontop ;)

if you want to keep them in good health, you better protect them with something.
it's not the sand and mud you need to fear but rather grid and little stones that might chip the chrome legs and make your forks leaky... just so you know.

Thanks for the advice.

No it's just very hard to kick. When cold, especially . Not too bad when warmed up but when cold or first starting its tough.
