Early bike crank bearing crossover and shims (if you want)

I was looking for the Koyo 63/28 bearings used in the early bikes and found that through 2007 Honda CR250R's use the same bearing. Also if anyone else wants to use shims behind the bearing (to reduce the large amount of clearance - .045 in on my sons 99 200) Mcmaster Carr has them for about $5 for a package of 5. 68 mm OD x 55 mm ID with different thicknesses available.
