Ec 300 water in gear oil? O ring ??

Hi I'm new to group, recently got a 2002 ec 300 and see oil was a little milky so decided to do pistonkit and water pump seal , all went fine got back together started up and water still going into gear oil , so have ordered the water pump shaft and another new seal , found this oring on my black mat after finished near the bike dont know if or where this could of come from , any ideas would be great thanks View attachment 9022

I've had to buy a new shaft before where there was a groove. Cheap part.

Water stays in box area so needs a flush. Buy a litre or so of diesel and pour 1/2 in. Prop the wheel up safety so it can spin. start the bike and run in gear for 10 seconds, drain and repeat.

O-ring maybe part of one of the seals?
