Does any one know if the Speedo/instrument on the 2007 EC300
has a back up battery?
If so where would i find it.
When i start the bike up the clock always reads 12.00 then when i stop riding it reads how ever many minutes i have been riding ie 12.45 it then stays on for a few moments when i switch the bike off then goes off.
On pressing either button on the display with the engine switched off nothing comes on.
Is this normal? My EC with the Trail tech goes off but by pressing a button it will come back to life.

This is normal. If you want it to keep time or be readable with the bike shut off you can wire a 9 volt battery to two of the wires coming out the back, just can't remember which ones right now.

If you have a 06/7 2 stroke you would have noticed how the clock built into the unit resets its self each time the engine is turned off. If you would like the clock on your 2 stroke to be continually on all you need to do is connect power to the brown wire coming out of the back of the Speedo head with a square 9 volt battery and earth to frame (or white wire). You can get the battery connectors at J-Car or from a broken .50cent kids toy at the local street market. The battery will last about a year.
