Since it is a 2010 I presume it has no e-start and no battery?Hello everyone, I’ve got an Ec300 2010 and since I got it the lights and the killswitch weren t wired to anything.. I would really need some help since the diagrams that i found aren’t really clear and I don t know where to start. Thanks in advance!
Yes, I just want the headight because I use it for offroad only, the problem is i don t have the original harness and the regulator next to the coil, I ve got a bigger regulator under the seat, I can t send the picture because it is too large.Since it is a 2010 I presume it has no e-start and no battery?
Disclaimer: I have no 2010 model to check on, everything I say is from memory only.
@Neil E. is your man when it comes to electrical issues.
Lights:
Older bikes without battery uses AC for lights. There should be an AC regulator located close to the ignition coil. It is a black small unit with only two wires (if memory serves me right). One is yellow and is coming from the stator. The other is the regulated AC, around 12VAC. If you have a multimeter handy, it is easily measured.
From there, you can follow the wires and see where they go.
Do you plan a full light setup with tail, brake light and full and dipped beam?
Or is this just an offroad bike where you need a headlight? If so, just use a switch and connect from the regulator directly to the light and from the light to ground.
Kill:
The kill switch is usually wired to ground on one side. Depending on how much is still there from your OEM harness, you can wire it into the harness in the headlight area, or directly to ground. The other end is usually connected to the signal coming from the pickup, if I remember correctly.
Do you have a battery?I am in Europe, i think mine is a regulator rectifier, it has 4 wires coming out of it
I don't remember exactly, but perhaps the flywheel has a left-hand thread? Its not uncommon.Unfortunately i don t have any voltage on the yellow wire.. The problem is that i tried 2 flywheel pullers M27x1.0 and none of them fit.. Any ideas how to take it out easier?
I read on forums that m27x1.0 is the one that should fit, and it is left hand threadI don't remember exactly, but perhaps the flywheel has a left-hand thread? Its not uncommon.
I would not recommend using anything other than a proper puller with the corect threads.
