how hot are we talkin here, normal use, boiling over?
id be much more worried about it on a 4t, all of mine have been mothers to start hot. but every 2t ive ridden have been butter, even ancient, and ridden into the dirt.
ive heard that(off road) e start is VERY succeptable to heat, and force a kickstart warm anyway.
all of my offroad bikes have been kick, and all of my street bikes have been e start. and ive had trouble with all of them (granted all were at least 10k miles and or 15 years old!)
That's very unusual. Have you tried pulling the choke on to see what difference it makes - better or worse? Obviously you know 2 strokes and that they often need a bit of throttle to start them? I sometimes forget this if I've been on 4 strokes for a while which are the opposite. Other than that I'd check the plug gap. If it's opened up it may be struggling to drive a spark at kick over speed.
I don't know why yours would start hard, but I will say that my MC always starts very easily, hot cold, after a crash. You've definitely got an issue. Obvious stuff would be check compression, timing, plug condition, jetting. Maybe something goofy in your stator causing weak spark?
I sure as heck wouldn't go to a 4T for easy starting...
